In Honor Of Gay Pride Special

9 05 2008

This is a special of IndyMedia made in honor of Gay Pride. It was very well made, and includes a Satire to try and show people what coming out can be like. Also, it includes documentaries on the Gay Pride movement, and Lots more. So, take a look, it is a half hour worth watching.

In honor of Gay Pride: 1. Coming Out Produced by students of Seattle’s Reel Grrls program, “Coming Out…” asks the question: What would it be like to live as a straight person in a gay world? A youth-produced mockumentary video, “Coming Out…” deftly illuminates the impact of heterosexism and homophobia on the identities of queer youth. Founded in 2001, “Reel Grrls” is an award-winning after-school media & technology training program that empowers teenage girls (ages 13-19) in the Puget Sound area to critique media images and to gain video technology skills in a safe, open environment, mentored by a network of multi-cultural women media professionals (www.reelgrrls.org). As the video was conceived and produced by teens, it is a fresh and humorous approach that encourages audiences to examine previously held prejudices in a non-threatening manner.
